If so, you could be just who we are after, to help us to make smiles happen for our children and young people.
As one of our volunteers, you will help our children and young people to overcome any fears, anxieties and enjoy new experiences and challenges. Your support will enable them to discover more about themselves, their strengths and their skills.
You could be inspiring children and young people as they take part in outdoor activity programmes, art and craft workshops, making and flying kites, taking part in Samba drumming workshops, juggling, kayaking, karaoke, planning and cooking a meal, or joining them as they enjoy the facilities within our residential centre.
For our children and young people, there are many ‘firsts’ and you will play a major part in helping them to achieve some important milestones.
- A child’s or young person's first holiday away from home
- Learning to ride a bike
- Seeing farm animals for the first time and learning about where food comes from
- Swimming in the sea for the first time
- Their first bed-time story
- Their first bonfire with roasted marshmallows
It’s a non-stop demanding role, with children and young people who will at times present challenges but one which brings fantastic rewards to the volunteer. |
